Where Kansas City's Most Beautiful Projects Begin

Laminated Beams

Laminated wood beams are used in a variety of different settings and provide a light weight, incredibly strong option to steel beams. With the strength of laminated beams you are able to span large rooms or areas and at the same time retaining the natural beauty of real wood. When used in conjunction with laminated roof decking or T&G these beams allow you to create a truly beautiful ceiling without losing strength. Currently we offer Laminated beams in two different materials both Douglas Fir and Alaskan Yellow Cedar are offered in a variety of different grades from the highest appearance to strictly structural. Douglas Fir is more suited to interior use is the first choice of many architects in commercial applications were large areas need to be spanned and appearance is also a priority. Alaskan Yellow Cedar is one of the most overlooked species of cedar on the market and is an ideal choice for laminated beams due to its naturally fine texture and straight grain. Alaskan Yellow Cedar also has a beautiful yellow color that along with its natural resistance to rot and insects all makes laminated cedar beams the idea choice on any project where there is any exposure to weather and were stability is critical.
