Where Kansas City's Most Beautiful Projects Begin

Cedar Siding

Although in recent years cedar siding has become less popular in the Midwest, cedar remains one of the most beautiful and environmentally friendly siding options available. Cedar, if properly maintained with stain, will last 40-50 years; if painted correctly, cedar siding can last indefinitely. In fact, home remodelers restoring turn of the century houses tend to be one of the largest cedar siding markets in the KC area. The majority of these projects need cedar siding, not because the existing cedar siding on the house has rotted or worn out, but because they are removing/installing windows, doors, room additions, etc. Many of these houses are well over 100 years old and still have the original siding. We currently have one of the largest selections of wood sidings in the KC area ranging from 4" wide to 12", all kept in stock.

Straight Bevel Siding

The most commonly used cedar siding patten is a straight bevel. These straight bevels are available in in widths ranging from 4" to 12" with many patterns available pre-primed for painting.

Aye&Btr

Just like in cedar boards, Aye&Btr is graded for an absence of knots and to be free of all defects. All Aye&Btr cedar bevel sidings are kiln dried and are one of the highest quality, most beautiful sidings available. All Aye&Btr sidings have a true reversible pattern which allows you to used either the smooth face for painting or the rough face for staining. Currently available in 4", 6", 8" and 10" patterns.

STK (Select Tight Knot )

Select tight knot siding is an excellent choice when a clear grade is not necessary or the look of knots is desired. Many homes do strive to produce a very classic siding look, where STK works nicely. All STK siding is kiln dried and, except for a very few patterns, is graded for and meant to be used with a rough face out. Currently available in 6", 8", 10" and 12" patterns.

Finger Jointed Pre-Primed

One of the newest additions to our stock has been the addition of a finger jointed pre-primed cedar bevel siding. This finger jointed product is made of all clear all heart cedar that has been finger jointed and comes in all 16' lengths. This product is available in 4", 6" and 8" patterns. In addition to being all 16' lengths, this product has been pre-primed on all four sides with a white oil based primer. Currently available in 4", 6", 8" and 10" patterns.

Rabbetted Cedar Bevel

Rabbetted cedar bevel is on of the most popular and beautiful cedar siding available. Rabbetted cedar bevel allows you to have the look of a straight cedar bevel siding but with a much easier application, saving you time and money. The rabbet in the back of the bevel allows the siding to be applied with much less worry about the siding becoming unlevel from row to row. Rabbetted bevel is also thicker than a straight bevel, making it more durable and resistant to splitting. Available in 6" and 8".
